Signature Character Limits

:?: What is the real character limit on signatures? It says 255, but I had to shorten my sig to 255 and that didn't work. Then tried 254 characters, but my signature was still too long.

The forum is set by default to 255 characters. The number is not lower than this. I am not sure why it would not let you post a signature if it is under 255.

I just added a signature, and it seems to work fine for me.

Maybe, because I was copy and pasting ... I don't know. But I have a character counter on my computer which does spaces and characters and got my sig down to 255 then 254 and tried to save it that way and it told me it was too long. I will try it again and see if it works for me.
