What: Diva's For Dollars- The Trans-Unity All Stars and special guests come out & provide great entertainment, please bring your tips for the entertainment. All proceeds will benefit "Trans-Unity" Pride.

Trans-Unity Pride's Youth Only Area
1125 N. McCadden Pl, Los Angeles, Ca, Near Santa Monica Blvd & Highland

Yes, it's here, "Teen Town" an area just for the youth, open to all GLBTQ youth and friends.
Sunday June 27th, 2004 1PM - 5PM.

We are delighted to announce this area with educational workshops, fun & games, dancing and socializing. Youth from all over Los Angeles & surrounding areas are invited to participate in this year's celebration. This will be a safe space for sharing and conversation with your peers. Although this is Trans-Unity Pride, it is open to youth from all communities. This event is Free of charge.

Trans-Unity Pride 2004 - Fifth Year Anniversary. Trans-Unity is an annual substance free celebration of transgender, transsexual, gender-queer, and cross- dressing individuals, and all those who love them, bringing everyone together for a day of educational workshops, discussion groups, entertainment, music, refreshments and relaxation. Producing agencies for Trans-Unity include Asian Pacific AIDS Intervention Team, Community Prevention Council, LGBT Tobacco Control Consortia, The Unique Woman's Coalition,FTM Alliance Los Angeles, Van Ness Prevention Division and The Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center at the Ed Gould Plaza.
3 Days Of Pride
Friday June 25: 8PM - Midnight A Screening of "A Soldier's Girl" followed by a question and answer session with Calpernia Addams whose relationship with a US Army Soldier inspired the story.
Saturday June 26: 8PM - Midnight Come and dance under the stars in the Village Courtyard. Hosted by: Sabrina LeBlanc "Miss Southern California 2004"
Sunday June 27: 10AM - Midnight Workshops will begin at 11am and go until 5pm.

Vendors - Workshops - Guest Speakers - 5th Annual Siren Awards

· Pride Time - 10:30A.M. - 12Midnight Free
· Workshops - 11:00A.M. - 6:00P.M.
· Siren Awards - 7:30P.M. - 9:45P.M.
More than 25 vendors and other community organizations are expected to participate in this celebration by setting
up booths to inform and educate our community about the services and resources available to them.

Sunday June 27: 7:30PM
Our evening segment will be a night to remember with the 5th Annual Trans-Unity Awards Ceremony "The Siren Awards" hosted by Ms. Chanel, recognizing local contributors to the welfare and support of the transgender community, the show will feature lively entertainment featuring live bands, spoken word, celebrity impersonators and live singers.

Fallen Angels

Each year during the annual Siren Awards we pay tribute to our Fallen Angels, a video presentation of names and photos of our Transgender brother and sisters who are no longer by our side. This segment depends on community involvement, we need names and photo's of your fallen angels.
Submissions will be presented during the 2004 Siren Awards "Fallen Angels" segment.

The award categories are:

A. Trailblazer Award – The Lifetime Achievement Award - the most outstanding transgender person in achievement and contribution to our community for the past year



A Trans person who illustrates outstanding commitment & dedication, someone who creates and implements new opportunities for the Trans community. An experience Trans person who exhibits great leadership, vision, and the ability to speak and act on behalf of the Transgender community at large.

REQUIREMENTS Candidate must exhibit these qualities for consideration
1) Must have five years community advocacy experience
2) Positive Image
3) Community organizer (creating new ways of creating awareness of trans issues and concerns)
4) Participates on several levels of advocacy (ex, planning boards, events, policy)
5) Illustrates great confidence


B. Icon Award - A Trans person that has established themselves as a true supporter, an inspiration to the trans community, someone who has contributed endless hours to community advocacy issues. A Trans person who is a positive influence for youth and adults alike, always lending or giving a hand, volunteerism is first on their list

REQUIREMENTS Candidate must exhibit these qualities for consideration
1) Must have four years community advocacy experience
2) Positive Image
3) Community organizer (creating new ways of creating awareness of trans issues and concerns)
4) Participates on several levels of advocacy (ex, planning boards, events, policy)
5) Illustrates great confidence

C. Spirit Award - one for MTF youth, and one for FTM youth. to recognize young, upcoming transgenders.

A Trans youth who demonstrates leadership in the trans community by attending or starting peer groups, meetings, volunteering, motivates other youth to get involved, shows the potential of becoming a future leader

REQUIREMENTS Candidate must exhibit these qualities for consideration
1) Must be a young person 16-24 years old
2) Must be involved with a Trans community group or program

D. Excellence Award - individual, group, or organization that has been of outstanding support for the Transgender community. Recipients need not be a transgender person.
A community based organization or group that exhibits unrelenting support and provides Transgender friendly and sensitive services.

REQUIREMENTS Candidate must exhibit these qualities for consideration
1) Must be acknowledged and supported by the Trans community.
2) Must be involved in Trans related issues
3) Must be an organization that supports the Trans community on any level (ex, policy, outreach, events)

E. Image Award - individual, group or organization that has been outstanding in promoting awareness and understanding about Transgender communities in media [television news,
newspaper, cable movies, magazines, etc. Recipient need not be a transgender person.

REQUIREMENTS Candidate must exhibit these qualities for consideration
1) Must be involved in media work (ex, writer, reporter, anchorperson, photographer)
